Glenrothes Vintage Reserve Scotch Whisky 0.7L (40% Vol.)
£28.90
Glenrothes Vintage Reserve
The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve is an aromatic single malt whisky from the distillery Glenrothes. It has an alcohol content of 40% vol. The special thing about the Glenrothes Vintage Reserve is the bottling. As a rule, whiskies from the Scottish distillery are bottled in vintages. The Vintage Reserve, on the other hand, is a combination of different vintages. A total of ten different single malts from the last three decades have been combined for this drink.

Aging
The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve does not have an exact storage time because it consists of many different types of whisky. These are stored in American and Spanish oak barrels before being married.
Aroma
The aroma of Glenrothes Vintage Reserve is very soft. Red fruits are particularly present. Tips of honey and citrus are also recognizable and complement the fruity base perfectly.
Taste
The Glenrothes Vintage Reserve is soft and creamy on the tongue. Here, too, the berries and other red fruits form the most dominant character. In the background, nutty nuances round off the whisky. If you keep the Glenrothes Vintage Reserve in your mouth longer, you will notice a slightly fiery sharpness in the whole the single malt leaves a velvety feeling.
Finish
The finish is long-lasting and complex. Subtle sherry notes are noticeable on the palate. The honey comes through velvety and is encased in a subtle citrus note.
Awards
In addition to Glenrothes connoisseurs, the Glenrothes Vintage Reserve has already convinced several juries of its ability. In 2016, the whisky won gold twice – once from the “International Spirits Challenge” and once again from the “Scotch Whisky Masters”. One year before the single Malt was awarded silver, also from the “International Spirits Challenge”.
Distillery
The Glenrothes Distillery is located in the Highlands of Scotland, Speyside to be precise. This region is home to around a hundred Scottish whisky distilleries, making it world famous for its whiskies. The characteristic feature of the whiskies that come from this region is a slightly peaty smoky note on the tongue. This is due to the water that is used directly in the production process and comes directly from the Highlands.
