When the four long-haired metal maniacs gathered in Frankfurt am Main in 1982 and founded the band Tankard (beer jug), no one would have believed that the endeavour would hold to this day. Tankard became the headliner of the German thrash metal scene and is still busy performing. Now they proudly present their first beer – which is of course absolutely fitting.
Tankard’s Pils of the Dog is brewed in Spain with German hop and malt carefully according to the German purity law of 1516. It’s deliciously tasty, which proves that the band is doing its best. Definitely a beer that cannot be missed in any refrigerator or in any fan collection – cheers!
They call themselves the inventors of “Alcoholic Metal” – another reason to pay attention to the beer of the band. In 2017, they celebrate their 35th anniversary with their 17th studio album “One Foot In The Grave”. We congratulate, for despite all the irony about the music of the troop, one should not underestimate them. On a continuous basis, the group releases musically strong albums onto the market and convinces with perseverance and flair. Only recently, with their all-time classics, they again became aware of their fans. Songs such as “(Empty) Tankard”, “The Morning After” or “Chemical Invasion” still attract the crowds. Sold out shows in clubs, concert tours in Asia and South America as well as appearances at the huge metal festivals of the world such as Wacken, Hellfest, Summer Breeze and many more continue to be of great popularity.
