Description

Some of the ingredients in the Aurum liqueur recipe are said to have their origins in ancient Rome, which led to D’Annunzio recommending a Latin name.

The final name of the liqueur, “Aurum”, is based on its golden colour and the use of fruit infusions, particularly oranges (“aurantium”).

Aurum Golden Orange Liqueur combines an aged Italian brandy and a distillate of citrus fruits. The brandy base of the liqueur is matured for around 8 years before being enriched with sun-ripened orange peel, selected herbs and saffron. The subsequent ageing in oak barrels gives the liqueur its characteristic golden colour.

The original recipe for Aurum Golden Orange Liqueur goes back to Luigi d’Amico, who developed it in 1850 in Abruzzo, Italy.

Since then, this exquisite blend has been one of the region’s characteristic sweet spirits.
