Description
Killowen Gloria Coffee Liqueur combines the traditional Irish art of distilling with an intense coffee flavour and is produced in the artisan Killowen Distillery in the Mourne Mountains. This small distillery is known for its authentic production method, which involves distilling exclusively in copper pot stills and working in particularly small batches. For this liqueur, natural, rich coffee varieties are married with the in-house Killowen Poitín – a distillate speciality that is deeply rooted in Irish tradition. The combination of high-quality coffee, fine Poitín and careful blending creates a lively, richly flavoured coffee liqueur with a moderate alcohol content of 20% vol.
The artisanal production in a small batch process allows the flavours to be precisely balanced, giving the liqueur its smooth structure, warm sweetness and characteristic coffee intensity. Gloria Coffee Liqueur is a modern interpretation of a classic coffee liqueur that cuts an expressive figure both on its own and in drinks. Its natural flavour, combined with the tradition of Irish distilling, makes it a speciality within the coffee liqueur category.
Tasting NoteColour: Dark coffee-brown.
Nose: Intense coffee notes, delicate sweetness, creamy roasted aromas and a hint of grain from the Poitín.
Flavour: Full-bodied and aromatic; strong coffee, soft sweetness, slightly malty undertones and harmonious spice.
Finish: Langs, warm and balanced with a clear coffee presence.
This coffee liqueur is ideal for espresso Martini variations, Irish coffee interpretations or creamy dessert cocktails. On its own or on ice, its dense, aromatic structure is particularly clear. An ideal flavour combination is created with desserts such as chocolate mousse, tiramisu, brownies or vanilla ice cream. It also harmonises excellently with pastries or caramel and nut components and remains long-lastingly aromatic and pleasantly round.
