Description

Mintis Gin Amarena Cherry & Pancalieri Mint is an artisanal Italian gin from Piedmont that combines fruity Amarena cherries with the distinctive freshness of Pancalieri mint. Mintis is produced at the family-run Torino distillery in Moncalieri, which is run by Carlo Vergnano together with his family and a small team. The gin is made using hand-picked Italian juniper berries, high-quality Amarena cherries from Pecetto, lemon and the region’s signature Pancalieri mint. The careful selection of Piedmontese ingredients gives this gin a distinct regional identity and combines traditional Italian raw materials with a modern take on fruit-forward gin.

A distinctive feature of Mintis Amarena Cherry Gin is its gentle production process in a specially developed vacuum still. Under the guidance of the experienced master distiller Denis Muni, the gin is distilled for around eight hours at just 60 °C. The comparatively low distillation temperature serves to preserve the fresh and aromatic qualities of the botanicals as effectively as possible. At 41.8% ABV in the 0.7-litre bottle, Mintis combines robust juniper with cool Pancalieri mint, fresh lemon and Italian black cherry. This combination, together with the artisanal production in Piedmont, makes this pink-coloured gin a distinctive alternative for lovers of fruity and Mediterranean-style gins.

Tasting NoteColour: Pink.

Nose: Fresh and fruity with Italian juniper, cool mint and lemon, accompanied by aromatic Amarena cherry.

Finish: Long-lasting and fruity with cherry, a delicate minty freshness and subtle notes of juniper.

Mintis Amarena Cherry & Pancalieri Mint Gin is particularly well suited to a fruity gin and tonic with a classic, not-too-sweet tonic water. Amarena cherries, fresh mint or a twist of lemon make ideal garnishes, as they specifically highlight the gin’s key botanicals. The combination of cherry and mint also works well in a Gin Spritz with sparkling wine and soda, or in fruity gin cocktails. On the food pairing front, antipasti, mild cheeses and desserts featuring cherries or dark chocolate complement its fruity, fresh profile.
