Description

Masahiro OKINAWA Gin The Japanese Craft Gin Recipe 02 is an exceptional craft gin produced on the island of Okinawa in Japan. This island, which is located south of Japan in tropical climes and extends as far as Thailand, is known for its hot climate and exotic flora. Masahiro Okinawa Gin Recipe 02 perfectly captures the essence of this region by using locally grown botanicals that enrich the gin with a unique and refreshing flavour.

A standout feature of this gin is the use of Citrus tankan, a citrus fruit native to Okinawa. This citrus fruit gives the gin a refreshing, slightly sweet and lemony note that harmonises perfectly with the other ingredients. The other botanicals include southern-style mint, cloves, moon peaches, Ingwerer and lemongrass. This combination creates an intense yet harmonious flavour that is both refreshing and complex. The gin is distilled with Awamori, a traditional rice spirit from Okinawa, which gives it a particularly deep and distinctive base.

Tasting NoteColour: Clear with a slight hint of green.

Nose: Fresh citrus notes of citrus tankan and lemongrass, complemented by the cooling mint and subtle spices of cloves and Ingwerer.

Flavour: Refreshing and lively, with a perfect balance of fruity, lemony notes and a spicy, tart depth of moon peach, mint and Ingwerer.

Finish: Langs and spicy, with a slight sweetness from the moon peaches and a refreshing mint note.

Masahiro OKINAWA Gin The Japanese Craft Gin Recipe 02 is ideal for a classic gin and tonic, where the citrus and mint notes really come into their own. The gin also unfolds its fresh, spicy flavours in cocktails such as a “Gin Mojito” or a “Japanese Gin Fizzers”. For pure enjoyment, it is recommended to serve the gin slightly chilled or enjoy it on ice to experience the complexity and freshness of the gin. This gin goes particularly well with fresh Asian dishes such as sushi, grilled fish or spicy Thai dishes, which complement its flavours wonderfully.
