Description
The mezcal from Casa Armando Guillermo Prieto (AGP), produced in the leading distillery in the heart of Oaxaca, is a prime example of craftsmanship and quality. Known as the largest distillery in the region, AGP has made a name for itself by producing mezcal that delights connoisseurs and novices alike. The key to its remarkable flavour lies in its careful maturation: the mezcal spends nine months in American oak barrels, developing a deep and complex aroma that sets it apart from other spirits.
Unique to the production of this mezcal is the innovative technique of cooking the agave instead of roasting it in the traditional way. This method is less common and gives the mezcal an incomparable flavour profile that is rich in nuances and surprisingly smooth. Cooking the agave produces subtle, sweet notes which, in combination with the natural spiciness of the mezcal, create a harmony that appeals to connoisseurs and aficionados alike.
