According to the legend, a Spanish princess was captured but managed to escape and was never found again. However, local fishermen claimed to have discovered her as a mermaid in the Pacific Ocean. This mystical background gives the mezcal a special meaning and makes it a real treat.

La Escondida Mezcal is made from the Espadin agave, one of the best-known types of agave for mezcal production. The mezcal is traditionally distilled in copper stills, which gives it its clear, unadulterated agave flavour and the intense smoky taste that is typical of mezcal. With an alcohol content of 40% by volume, this mezcal offers an intense and complex flavour experience, which comes into its own both neat and in cocktails.
