Description
Topanito Añejo Tequila is a high-quality premium tequila from Mexico, made exclusively from 100% agave azul. The agave plants used for this tequila grow in the highlands of Jalisco and are only harvested after a maturation period of 5 to 7 years, when they have developed their full flavour. With an alcohol content of 40% vol. and bottled in a 0.7-litre bottle, this Añejo stands for quality, craftsmanship and authenticity.
Distillation takes place in modern stainless steel pot stills, giving the tequila a pure and clearly defined character. It is then matured for at least 12 months in whisky barrels, which give it additional depth, a warm wood structure and fine vanilla and roasted flavours. This interplay of fresh agave base and barrel ageing makes Topanito Añejo a particularly balanced and complex representative of its category.
Tasting NoteColour: Deep gold to amber.
Nose: Rich and warm with aromas of oak, vanilla, toffee, honey and baked agave.
Flavour: Full-bodied with notes of caramel, cinnamon, roasted agave, roasted nuts and fine spice.
Finish: Long-lasting, smooth and elegant with a harmonious interplay of sweetness, wood and agave notes.
Topanito Añejo Tequila is ideal for drinking neat at room temperature to allow the barrel notes to fully develop. It also unfolds its depth with a piece of dark chocolate or a mild cigar. In the kitchen, it is ideal with grilled beef, roasted corn with spices, mole sauces, but also with desserts such as crème brûlée, vanilla pudding with caramel or cheese platters with mature Manchego. An añejo full of character that epitomises the art of Mexican tequila production in style.
