Description
The Laphroaig 10 Years Old 40% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is the iconic classic from the traditional Laphroaig Distillery on Islay, which has been known for its unmistakably peaty style since 1815. This single malt Scotch whisky has achieved cult status over the decades and epitomises the characteristic intensity and uniqueness of Islay whiskies like no other.
The production is based on barley that is dried over a strong peat fire, which gives the distillate its legendary medicinal, smoky character. Laphroaig is then matured for 10 years in ex-bourbon casks made from American white oak, which were previously filled with bourbon. This cask ageing gives it not only a massive smokiness but also fine vanilla and caramel notes as well as spicy wood tones. With an alcohol content of 40% by volume, it is intense, distinctive and yet balanced. It is supplied here in an elegant gift box (GB), which also makes it a visual highlight for connoisseurs.

The Laphroaig 10 Years Old unfolds its full effect neat in a nosing glass or with a few drops of water to open up the flavours and emphasise the sweetness. In culinary terms, it harmonises perfectly with fresh oysters, smoked salmon, grilled meat or strong blue cheese. It also offers a special flavour experience as a contrast to dark chocolate with a high cocoa content.
