The Jameson Black Barrel Triple Distilled Irish Whiskey 40% Vol. 0.7 l is a special bottling from the traditional Midleton Distillery in Ireland, which interprets the classic Jameson style with even more depth and flavour. Since 1780, the name Jameson has been synonymous with mild, harmonious Irish whiskey – the Black Barrel stands out clearly from the original thanks to its special barrel management.
Like all Jameson qualities, the whiskey is triple-distilled, which gives it its exceptional mildness. However, the speciality lies in the maturation: a combination of ex-bourbon casks and sherry casks are used, with the bourbon casks being double-distilled (“black barrels”). This process intensifies the flavours of vanilla, caramel and toasted wood and gives the whiskey a rich complexity. Bottled at 40% vol., the Black Barrel is balanced, full-bodied and yet typically smooth in character.
