Description
The Balvenie Distillery, which has been producing high-quality whisky since 1892, still preserves many traditional methods in its production process. For example, the barley is still grown on site and the distillery uses a traditional malting floor – a rarity in the modern whisky industry. In addition, Balvenie employs its own team of coopers who are responsible for maintaining and repairing the casks to ensure optimum quality throughout the maturation process.
The production of Balvenie 15 Years Madeira is a demanding process that is carried out with the utmost care and dedication. The whisky is made using traditional methods in which the barley, which is hand-twisted and malted on site, plays a central role. After the distillate has been distilled in copper pot stills, which helps to preserve the authentic flavours, the whisky is carefully matured.
During this maturation phase, the whisky is constantly monitored to ensure that it reaches the desired quality. Finally, it is finished to create a perfectly balanced and premium whisky that reflects both the craftsmanship and heritage of the Balvenie distillery in every drop.
