Description
The story of Johnnie Walker began in 1819 when, after the unexpected death of his father, young John Walker sold his parents’ farm to open a grocery and general shop. When the quality of the single malts was unreliable, John began blending his own spirits to ensure consistent quality after the legalisation of blending. His son continued this tradition after his father’s death in 1857 and laid the foundations for today’s whisky empire.
The Johnnie Walker Black Label is considered an icon among blended Scotch whiskies. Made from whisky matured for at least 12 years, all four Scottish whisky regions – Highlands, Lowlands, Speyside and Islands – are utilised. Master blender Jim Beveridge and his team ensure that the flavour always remains consistent.
This versatile whisky, which impresses with its high quality and distinctive flavour, is popular in a variety of contexts, from opera houses to bars, restaurants and leisure events.
