Description
The Speyburn Hopkins Reserve Speyside Single Malt is an exclusive bottling that has been specially developed for the travel retail market. Named after John Hopkins, the founder of Speyburn Distillery, this whisky honours the distillery’s long tradition and craftsmanship, which has been producing excellent single malts since 1897. This whisky comes from the famous Speyside region of Scotland, which is renowned for its fruity and elegant malts.
With an alcohol content of 46% vol., Hopkins Reserve has been bottled without chill-filtration to preserve its full character and natural flavours. It is matured in carefully selected ex-bourbon and sherry casks, which give it a harmonious balance of sweet fruitiness and gentle woody notes. The combination of vanilla, honey, ripe apples and a subtle spiciness makes this whisky an ideal companion for lovers of Speyside malts who are looking for an accessible yet profound bottling.
Tasting NoteColour: Golden amber with warm honey tones.
Nose: Sweet honey and vanilla notes combine with fresh green apples, malt and a light citrus freshness.
Flavour: Smooth and balanced, with creamy vanilla, honey, ripe pears and a hint of spicy oak and nutmeg.
Finish: Medium length and smooth, with a gentle hint of toffee and slightly spicy oak.
Speyburn Hopkins Reserve is perfect to enjoy on its own or with a few drops of water to bring out its fine flavours even more. It is ideal with nutty chocolates, mature cheese or mild cigars, which emphasise its creamy and fruity complexity. It can also develop an interesting depth of flavour in a classic whisky sour with its sweet and spicy notes.
