Description

The market launch of Yellow Spot, a single pot still whiskey, took place in London on 23 May 2012. The Yellow Spot is characterised by its maturation period of at least 12 years, during which it is stored in three different types of cask: bourbon barrels, sherry butts and Malaga casks. This variety in cask maturation gives it a broad spectrum of flavours.

The Irish Distillers are behind the production of Yellow Spot, continuing the traditional Mitchell & Son line. Mitchell & Son had already launched innovative whiskeys on the market in the first third of the 20th century with the Spot range, consisting of the Green Spot, Yellow Spot, Blue Spot and Red Spot. Each of these names reflected a different maturation period and cask combination, which gave them their own unique flavour profiles.

By continuing this tradition, Irish Distillers emphasises the importance of craftsmanship and historical heritage in whiskey production. At the same time, the complexity and quality of Yellow Spot demonstrates the ongoing innovation and adaptability in the production of Irish whiskeys.
