Description

The Green Spot LÉOVILLE BARTON Single Pot Still Irish Whiskey 46% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is an exceptional special edition from the traditional Midleton Distillery in Ireland, which is known for its excellent single pot still whiskeys. Green Spot itself is a cult brand that has its roots in the Dublin wine house Mitchell & Son and stands for whiskeys that are produced in small batches in the old Irish tradition.

For this edition, the company collaborated with the famous Bordeaux vineyard Château Léoville Barton, a Grand Cru Classé in the Médoc. The whiskey was first matured in classic American bourbon and sherry casks before being given an additional finish in Bordeaux wine casks from Léoville Barton. This cask management gives it a unique interplay of flavours that combines the fruitiness and spiciness of the Irish pot still style with the deep, vinous notes of French red wine casks.

Bottled at 46% vol., non-chill-filtered and natural in colour, Green Spot Léoville Barton offers an authentic, multi-layered taste experience. The elegant gift box (GB) also makes it a sought-after choice for collectors and connoisseurs looking for something special.

Tasting NoteColour: Warm copper red with reddish reflections.

Nose: Ripe red berries, spices, vanilla, fresh wood and light sherry notes.

Flavour: Full-bodied and complex, with juicy fruit, dark berries, malt, spices, sweet sherry and a hint of oak.

Finish: Langs, spicy and fruity with an elegant wine and wood balance.

The Green Spot Léoville Barton unfolds its full potential neat in a nosing glass or with a few drops of water, which brings out its fruity flavours even more. It harmonises perfectly with strong cheeses, dark chocolate or game dishes, where the winey barrel notes unfold their effect. Thanks to its combination of Irish whiskey tradition and French wine heritage, it is a real highlight for lovers of exceptional cask maturation.
