Kavalan DISTILLERY SELECT Single Malt Whisky No. 1 is a Taiwanese single malt whisky, 40 per cent ABV, in a 0.7-litre bottle complete with a gift box. It is produced by the renowned Kavalan Distillery in Yilan, in north-eastern Taiwan. A key feature of the distillery is Yilan’s subtropical climate, which has a significant influence on the whisky’s maturation and facilitates an intensive exchange between the distillate and the cask. For the Distillery Select No. 1, Kavalan uses selected refill casks, in which the whisky develops into a well-balanced expression of the characteristic Kavalan style. The bottling places particular emphasis on the smooth and fruity character of the Taiwanese distillery.
Visually, too, the Kavalan Distillery Select No. 1 is highly recognisable. As with the Kavalan Single Malt and Kavalan Concertmaster, the striking bottle design is inspired by Taipei 101, one of Taiwan’s most famous landmarks. In terms of flavour, this single malt has been conceived as a versatile and accessible interpretation of the Kavalan Whisky style, suitable for enjoying both neat and in premium whisky cocktails. The combination of Taiwanese whisky production, maturation in a subtropical climate, selected refill casks and 40% ABV makes the Kavalan Distillery Select No. 1 0.7 l an intriguing introduction to the world of Kavalan Whisky and, at the same time, a versatile addition to any home bar.

Nose: Soft and elegant with ripe tropical fruits, green apple, mango, pineapple and cherry.
Palate: Rich and well-balanced with tropical fruit, sweet vanilla and caramel, and a pleasantly smooth texture.
Finish: Harmonious and smooth with lingering fruit sweetness, vanilla and subtle caramel notes.
Kavalan Distillery Select No. 1 can be enjoyed neat at room temperature, on the rocks or with a few drops of water. Thanks to its balanced and fruit-forward style, it is also particularly well suited as a single malt for cocktails, such as a whisky highball or a fruity take on a whisky sour. Food pairings include mild hard cheeses, grilled poultry or lightly spiced Asian dishes. For desserts, vanilla cream, caramel desserts or creations featuring mango and pineapple make ideal accompaniments.
