Auchentoshan Blood Oak owes its name to the special maturation in ex-bourbon casks and red wine casks, which not only give the whisky depth and spice, but also its striking deep reddish-golden colour. While the bourbon casks bring in vanilla, coconut and soft wood notes, the red wine casks provide intense fruit accents and spicy tension with notes of red fruit and Ingwerer. This combination of casks makes the Blood Oak Single Malt a deliberately “Distilled Different” interpretation of a travel retail whisky that clearly emphasises colour, structure and aroma.
