Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon Whisky is an authentic Kentucky-style bourbon from the US state of Iowa, which impressively showcases the art of modern American whisky-making. With an alcohol content of 40% vol. in a 0.7-litre bottle, this bottling comes from the Cedar Ridge Distillery in Swisher, Iowa, which was founded in 2005. It was the first officially licensed distillery in Iowa since Prohibition and is now regarded as one of the state’s leading whisky producers. The distillery combines traditional bourbon production with regional raw materials and a great deal of craftsmanship.
The basis of Cedar Ridge Iowa Bourbon Whiskey is a classic mash bill comprising 74 per cent maize, 14 per cent rye and 12 per cent malted barley. The high proportion of maize provides the typical sweetness of a bourbon, whilst rye contributes subtle spice and the malted barley adds further complexity. During maturation in charred new American oak casks, the whisky develops its harmonious balance of vanilla, caramel and spicy woody notes. The result is a pleasantly approachable bourbon whisky that is equally impressive when enjoyed neat or in classic whisky cocktails, and which impressively reflects the character of the up-and-coming whisky region of Iowa.

Palate: Smooth and well-balanced with caramel sauce, marshmallows, tropical fruits, vanilla and a pleasant rye spice.
