Description

The Tomintoul distillery is located in the Scottish Highlands in the Cairngorms National Park. Tomintoul was named after the village of Tomintoul, which is located near the distillery. The whisky distillery was opened in 1964 and is now owned by Angus Dundee Distillers.

The Cairngorms are some of the few places outside the Arctic that have tundra areas. Sub-zero temperatures, as well as cold and windy winters, lead to unique wild flowers and animals thriving in this landscape in summer. The Tomintoul TUNDRA is produced in this environment. The maturation takes place in American oak bourbon casks.
