The Kujira Ryukyu 15 Years Old Single Grain Whisky is an exceptional Japanese single grain whisky from Okinawa that differs significantly from classic barley whiskies. This characterful Ryukyu whisky is produced by the traditional Masahiro Distillery, which was founded in 1883 and is one of the oldest and largest distilleries in Okinawa. Instead of barley, only 100% high-quality rice is used for this premium single grain whisky, resulting in a particularly soft, silky texture.
It is matured for more than 15 years in a combination of sherry casks, bourbon casks and American white oak casks. Okinawa’s subtropical climate with warm, humid storage conditions accelerates the maturation process and intensifies the cask interaction, allowing fruity and botanical nuances to develop in a particularly pronounced way. These climatic characteristics give the Japanese rice whisky matured for 15 years a dense structure and aromatic depth. Bottled at 43% and presented in a high-quality gift box, this edition combines tradition, craftsmanship and regional uniqueness in an elegant form.
