Description
The Lagavulin 12 Years Old Grain & Embers is a highlight of the Diageo Special Releases 2025, which have been released under the theme Horizons Unbound. With a maturation period of 12 years in a combination of refill casks and European oak butts, which were previously filled with Pedro Ximénez and Oloroso sherry, this single malt from Islay presents itself in a particularly intense and multi-faceted form.
Lively, smoky and powerful, it combines the typical peaty character of Lagavulin with impressive sweet, salty and savoury aromas. The combination of sherry casks brings rich fruitiness and depth into play, which harmonises perfectly with the typical Islay smokiness. Bottled in natural cask strength at 56.5% vol., it is powerful, unadulterated and has an authentic character. Packaged in an artistically designed gift box with an elegant label, this limited special edition is not only a delight, but also a coveted collector’s item.
Tasting NoteColour: Light amber.
Nose: Intensely smoky with maritime notes, sweet sherry notes, dried fruit and a hint of salt.

The Lagavulin 12 Years Old Grain & Embers Special Release 2025 is best enjoyed neat at room temperature to experience the balance of smoke, sweetness and spice in full intensity.
