The Nikka BLACK Rich Blend is a harmonious, mildly elegant blended whisky from Japan that is characterised by its flavour balance and accessible character. It comes from Nikka Whisky, one of Japan’s most important whisky producers, founded by Masataka Taketsuru – the “father of Japanese whisky”. The BLACK series is one of the company’s most successful bottlings on the domestic market and was specially designed for everyday enjoyment.
The rich blend uses both malt whiskies from Yoichi (strong, smoky) and Miyagikyo (fruity, floral). These are combined with fine grain whisky, creating a smooth, rounded overall picture. Some of the malts are matured in sherry casks, which gives the blend additional depth and sweet, fruity notes. With a moderate alcohol content of 40% by volume, this whisky is particularly pleasant to drink – neat, on ice or in a mix.

Nose: Gentle and balanced with notes of vanilla, honey, ripe apples, malt and a hint of dried fruit.
