Black Bottle 10 Years Old Blended Scotch Whisky 40% Vol. 0,7l in gift box
£39.22
Description
The story of Black Bottle whisky begins in 1879, when the three brothers Charles, David and Gordon Graham moved to the harbour city of Aberdeen, leaving their native Torphins. They became known as tea blenders and later turned their attention to whisky.
The distinctive and strikingly opaque black bottle made this whisky stand out from the usual whisky bottles. These were and still are green, brown or clear.
Not only the black bottle, but also the diversity of the contents are a unique selling point that the Black Bottle whisky has to offer.
95% of the contents are characterised by Islay malts, with Bunnahabhain malts playing a major role. Of course, the size of Bunnahabhain’s role is not revealed. A secret of the distillery.
However, it has been revealed that the classic Black Bottle contains 65-70% grain whisky and around 30-35% malt whisky. The blended whisky matures for 2-4 months in virgin oak casks, after which it is bottled.
This whisky finally matures for 10 years in American oak casks.

Tasting NoteColour: Rich gold with amber reflections.
Nose: Smoky Islay notes, honey, vanilla, roasted nuts and a hint of dark chocolate.
Flavour: Soft and full-bodied, with nuances of peat smoke, caramel, spices, dried fruit and toasted wood.
Finish: Long-lasting, slightly smoky and spicy, with a pleasant sweetness of malt and vanilla.
The Black Bottle 10 Years Old unfolds its flavours best neat or with a drop of water. Thanks to its smoky and spicy notes, it harmonises perfectly with grilled meat, smoked cheese or dark chocolate. It is also perfect as a base for classic whisky cocktails such as a Rob Roy, Old Fashioned or a whisky sour with a peaty flavour.
