Description
Laphroaig 33 Years Old The Ian Hunter Story Book 3: Source Protector is an exceptional Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 49.9 per cent in a 0.7-litre bottle and presented in a high-quality gift box. This strictly limited edition is the third instalment in the exclusive Ian Hunter Story series, which pays tribute to the life and legacy of Ian Hunter, the last owner and managing director of the Johnston family. Book 3 – Source Protector tells the story of his determined efforts to protect the Kilbride Stream, which remains the Laphroaig Distillery’s vital water source to this day. The edition is based on a vintage from 1987 and has been matured for 33 years exclusively in ex-bourbon casks. As it has been matured entirely in bourbon casks, Laphroaig’s unmistakable distillery character remains particularly authentic, emphasising the distillery’s classic style.
The Laphroaig 33 Years Old Source Protector combines the powerful Islay peat smoke notes with the exceptional elegance of a long maturation period. Maturation exclusively in ex-bourbon barrels ensures a clear, balanced character, in which the typical Laphroaig style blends harmoniously with the influences of decades of cask ageing. This exclusive limited edition is aimed at collectors and connoisseurs of matured Islay single malts who appreciate exceptional bottlings with historical significance.
