Description

Douglas Laing has updated the name of their famous Island blended malt bottling from ‘Rock Oyster’ to ‘Rock Island’, without changing the award-winning contents. Rock Island brings together selected single malts from the Scottish islands of Islay, Arran, Jura and An Orkney, giving it distinctive smoky notes, sweetness and maritime flavours. As part of the Remarkable Regional Malts series, Rock Island symbolises the diversity and quality of Scotland’s malt whisky regions.

To honour the essential role of wood in whisky production, especially on the occasion of the Chinese Year of the Wood Dragon 2024, Rock Island presents a special edition that has been aged in carefully selected, heavily charred “crocodile casks”. This processing allows the Year of the Dragon Edition to absorb a variety of rich flavours from the deep charring of the wood, giving the creation an exceptional depth of flavour.

This whisky is bottled at its natural cask strength of 54.8%, deliberately avoiding the addition of colouring agents and chill-filtration.
