Description
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie Scottish Barley is a characterful unpeated Islay single malt that impressively demonstrates that the island of Islay can do far more than smoke. This bottling exemplifies the progressive philosophy of the Bruichladdich Distillery, which has been known for transparency, origin and precision craftsmanship since its reopening. This single malt is made exclusively from Scottish barley, the exact origin of which is documented on the bottle. Distillation is slow and deliberate in order to obtain a particularly flavoursome, lively distillate.
Maturation takes place in a carefully selected range of high-quality oak casks, predominantly American oak, which give the whisky structure and depth without masking the fresh distillery character. The Classic Laddie is bottled at a strong 50% vol., uncoloured and non-chill-filtered, which preserves its natural texture and aromatic complexity. Presented in a striking, light blue bottle and a protective tin box, this bottling combines modern design with uncompromising quality and is a clear statement for terroir-influenced single malt whisky from Islay.
Tasting NoteColour: Light gold.
Nose: Fresh and lively with citrus fruit, green apple, malt, floral notes and a hint of sea salt.
Flavour: Creamy and complex with barley sugar, ripe pear, vanilla, fine oak and mineral freshness.
Finish: Langs, clean and elegant with subtle sweetness and maritime accents.
Bruichladdich The Classic Laddie is ideal for pure enjoyment, ideally with a few drops of water to further open up the aromatic depth. In culinary terms, this unpeated Islay single malt harmonises particularly well with fresh seafood, oysters, mild goat’s cheese or light fish dishes. It also unfolds its balanced, long-lasting flavour with fine shortbread or subtly sweet desserts and always remains clear, elegant and precise.
