The Hinotori 5 Years Old Blended Japanese Whisky is a carefully created limited edition released to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the small Japanese distillery Hinotori, founded in 1949. “Hinotori” means “phoenix” in Japanese, a symbol that can be found on both the label and the elegantly designed gift box, symbolising the rebirth and purity of this exquisite whisky.
This special blend combines carefully selected grain and malt whiskies that are matured for five years in reclaimed Mizunara oak casks. This type of maturation gives the whisky its unique, subtle woody notes and complex flavour. Mizunara oak is known for its ability to add gentle spicy notes and a hint of sandalwood. In addition, this whisky is bottled without chill-filtration and without the addition of colouring agents in order to preserve the natural character and purity of the end product.

Nose: Orchids in bloom, fresh citrus fruits, honey, subtle notes of Mizunara spices.
Flavour: Vanilla, caramel, light fruitiness with apricots, citrus; fine spicy notes of Mizunara wood.
