Bushmills Black Bush Irish Whiskey Caviste Edition 43% Vol. 0.7 l + GB is a special bottling from Ireland’s oldest licensed whiskey distillery, the Old Bushmills Distillery, which has been renowned for its outstanding craftsmanship since 1608 in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. This exclusive edition combines centuries-old tradition with a modern ageing process that further enhances the unmistakable character of Black Bush Whiskey.

As is typical for this Linie, malt and grain whiskey are blended together before being carefully matured in ex-bourbon and oloroso sherry casks. This combination ensures an exceptional depth and aromatic balance between sweetness, spice and fruitiness. The high proportion of matured malt whiskey in the blend gives the Black Bush its particularly smooth texture and elegant complexity.

At 43 per cent by volume, the Caviste Edition has a stronger structure than the classic Black Bush, but remains harmonious and round at the same time. The influence of the sherry casks produces rich notes of dried fruit, caramel and nuts, while the bourbon casks contribute soft vanilla and a hint of oak. The result is a multi-layered Irish whiskey that impresses both on its own and in sophisticated whiskey cocktails.

Tasting NoteColour: Deep gold with amber reflections.

Nose: Fruity and spicy with notes of sultanas, caramel and vanilla, underpinned by sherry and oak.

Flavour: Soft, round and balanced with dried fruit, nuts, malt and a fine sweetness.

Finish: Langs, harmonious and elegant with subtle wood and spice notes.

The Bushmills Black Bush Caviste Edition is ideal to enjoy on its own or with a small dash of water to emphasise the fruity and spicy nuances. It harmonises perfectly with strong cheeses, smoked ham or chocolate-based desserts. It is also ideal with an Irish coffee or as a fine accompaniment to a relaxed evening in combination with a mild cigar. A whiskey full of character that impressively reflects the essence of Irish distilling.
