The Clonakilty GALLEY HEAD Rhum Cask Matured Irish Whiskey comes from the Clonakilty Distillery on the wild Atlantic coast of West Cork in Ireland. Named after the famous Galley Head lighthouse, this Irish whiskey reflects the distillery’s maritime origins. The distillery combines traditional Irish whiskey production with innovative cask maturation to create bottlings full of character with a distinctive profile.
This Clonakilty Irish Whiskey is distilled from carefully selected grain and initially matured in oak barrels in the traditional way. The whiskey is then given an additional maturation phase in rhum casks, resulting in a particularly aromatic combination of Caribbean cask character and Irish whiskey tradition. The storage close to the Atlantic coast ensures a unique maturing climate that characterises the West Cork Irish Whiskey with subtle maritime influences. At 40 % vol., this Rhum Cask Matured Irish Whiskey is soft, round and pleasantly fruity.

Thanks to its fruity cask character, this Irish whiskey with rum cask maturation is also an excellent accompaniment to desserts with caramelised fruit, chocolate or crème brûlée. It can also be used in whiskey cocktails such as a Rum Cask Old Fashioned or Whiskey Highball and gives these drinks a particularly aromatic depth.
