Description

The Signatory Vintage Jura 16 Years Old 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt Cask Strength #16 2009 54,4% Vol. 0,7 l in Tinbox is an exclusive single cask bottling from the renowned independent bottler Signatory Vintage. It was distilled in 2009 at the traditional Isle of Jura Distillery, which is known for its expressive, island-style whiskies. This bottling matured for over 16 years in a first fill oloroso sherry butt, giving the single malt its intense flavour and deep complexity.

This Jura was bottled at a powerful 54.4% vol. in cask strength, naturally without chill filtration and without colouring to preserve its natural character and full cask strength. This whisky is therefore primarily aimed at connoisseurs and collectors who appreciate authentic, unadulterated bottlings. It is supplied in a high-quality tin box, which also makes it a visual highlight.

Tasting NoteColour: Deep mahogany with reddish-brown reflections.

Nose: Intense with aromas of sultanas, figs, dark chocolate, sherry sweetness and spicy oak.

Flavour: Full-bodied, strong and complex with notes of dried fruit, caramel, leather, nuts and clear sherry spice.

Finish: Langs, warm and rich with a fine sweetness and spicy wood.

The Signatory Vintage Jura 16 Years Old Cask Strength reveals its full depth when enjoyed neat, preferably with a few drops of water to tame the cask strength and release additional nuances. It is an excellent culinary accompaniment to dark chocolate with a high cocoa content, strong cheeses such as blue mould or mature cheddar, as well as cigars. It is also an excellent choice as a luxurious digestif after a festive meal. Thanks to its limited edition, it is not only a pleasure to drink, but also a coveted collector’s item.
