Bottled by Elixir Distillers, this whisky presents the pure essence of Islay – maritime, smoky and amazingly well-balanced at the same time.
Distilled in 2014 and matured for over ten years in toasted oak casks, Port Askaig 10 Years reveals an impressive depth and complexity. The use of toasted barrels – barrels that have been heated on the inside to intensify the wood and caramel flavours – gives this whisky warm, sweet and spicy notes that combine wonderfully with the typical Islay peat. Bottled in cask strength at a powerful 57.8% vol., it is presented in its natural form – not chill-filtered and without colouring agents – an expression of pure distillation artistry.
