The Perfect Circle whiskies are produced by Shiki Shuzo Co. Ltd. in Japan. This distillery co-operates with many Japanese domestic distilleries. Shiki Shuzo is an independent company that has a business relationship with Matsui Shuzo, the producer of Kurayoshi whisky.
“Enso” is a sacred symbol in Zen Buddhism and means “circle”. This calligraphy is traditionally drawn with just one brushstroke and is not altered afterwards. This whisky bears this sacred Japanese symbol, which was designed by the Japanese calligrapher Juju Kurihara, who also heads the “Sosekido” school in Japan.
The Maen Perfect Circle whisky is a blend of malt and grain whiskies that are distilled two to three times in copper pots and aged for between three and five years. It is matured for 12 years in American white oak bourbon casks.
