The Pittyvaich 30 Years Old Single Malt Special Release 2020 is a rare and exclusive bottling from the Ghost Distillery Pittyvaich, which was founded in 1974 and closed in 1993. This makes this whisky one of the rare distillates that only come from old cask stocks and can no longer be reproduced. Diageo’s Special Release 2020 series brings this unique single malt to the market as a limited edition after 30 years of maturation.
Produced in the Speyside region, this exceptional whisky matured for three decades in a combination of refill American oak hogsheads and first-fill bourbon barrels. This selection of barrels ensures an extraordinary variety of flavours with sweet, fruity and spicy notes. Bottled at a powerful 50.8% vol., Pittyvaich 30 is bottled in its natural purity without chill-filtration or the addition of colouring agents.
The closed Pittyvaich distillery has left behind only a few bottlings, making this whisky a sought-after rarity for collectors and connoisseurs. With its Langs maturation and complex cask ageing, it offers a unique flavour experience that bears the hallmarks of a distillery’s art long gone.
