Description
The GlenDronach PEATED Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky 46% ABV 0.7 l + GB is a special bottling from the historic The GlenDronach Distillery in the Scottish Highlands, which is renowned for its sherry-influenced whiskies. With this variant, the distillery presents a rare peated Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky, produced using historic distilling methods. In the past, peat was used during the malting process to dry the barley – it is precisely this traditional method that The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated revives, lending the whisky its characteristic, subtle smoky note.
Maturation takes place in a combination of Pedro Ximénez (PX) and Oloroso sherry casks, as well as port casks, resulting in a complex blend of sweet, fruity and spicy aromas. This selection of casks harmonises with the light smokiness to create the typical GlenDronach style, in which sherry cask character and peated smoke blend elegantly together. The Highland single malt whisky is bottled at 46 per cent, which allows its aromatic depth and structure to come to the fore particularly well. It is delivered in a gift box, which further enhances the special nature of this bottling.
Tasting NoteColour: Dark gold with coppery highlights.
Nose: Toffee, syrup, dark honey, slightly smoky barley notes.
Palate: Toasted orange, syrup, cloves, smoked blackberries.

The GlenDronach Peated Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky is excellent enjoyed neat, ideally at room temperature or with a small drop of water, which allows the combination of smoky and sherry notes to unfold to their full potential. In terms of food pairing, this peated Highland whisky goes particularly well with smoked meats, game dishes, strong cheeses or BBQ dishes. This sherry cask-matured single malt whisky also pairs very well with desserts featuring dark chocolate, berry compote, caramelised pastries or nut-based desserts, and its blend of smokiness, sweetness and spice beautifully complements the flavours of the food.
