Description

The Hunter Laing SCARABUS Islay Single Malt Specially Selected is a characterful Islay single malt Scotch whisky, bottled at 46% in a 0.7-litre bottle. Behind the Scarabus brand is the independent bottler Hunter Laing, who, with this bottling, pays tribute to the distinctive whisky tradition of the Scottish island of Islay. The name Scarabus refers to a mystical area on Islay and dates back to the 13th century. Translated from Old Norse, it means ‘rocky place’ and alludes to the island’s rugged, sea-sculpted landscape. True to the motto “Only those who seek shall find”, the exact origin of the single malt used remains deliberately a secret, inviting whisky lovers to embark on their own journey of discovery. The bottle design features symbols and motifs inspired by the works of the Islay-born explorer John Francis Campbell.

The Scarabus Specially Selected is bottled at 46% ABV and is free from colouring and chill filtration, ensuring that its natural character is fully preserved. Powerful Islay peat smoke meets maritime freshness, sweet vanilla and spicy leather notes. This balanced combination makes this Islay single malt an excellent choice for lovers of authentic, smoky Scotch whiskies.
