The Signatory Vintage Auchentoshan 12 Years Old 2013/2025 1st Fill Oloroso Sherry Butt Finish Cask #4 is an extremely rare single cask bottling from the Scottish Lowlands, which reflects the region’s classic style with exceptional intensity. Bottled by the renowned independent bottler Signatory Vintage, this Lowland single malt Scotch whisky comes from the historic Auchentoshan Distillery. It was distilled on 16 April 2013 and bottled on 8 September 2025 after 12 years of maturation. As one of the last Lowland distilleries, Auchentoshan is still triple-distilled, which gives the distillate a particularly smooth, elegant and clear character, as was once typical of the region.
Andrew Symington has complemented the delicate, malty character of this Auchentoshan with a carefully selected finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry butt, which lends the whisky an extra dimension. The Andalusian sherry cask brings complex fruity and spicy aromas, depth and a creamy mouthfeel to the elegant Lowland profile. This bottling comes from cask no. 4 (part), from which only 394 bottles were produced. The whisky was bottled at a robust 56.9% ABV in cask strength, unchill-filtered and uncoloured, ensuring that the character of the cask and the distillery remains unadulterated. Independently bottled single casks of Auchentoshan of this quality are extremely rare and hold clear collector’s value.
