La Quintinye Vermouth Royal Extra Dry 17% Vol. 0,75l
£19.68
La Quintinye Vermouth Royal Extra Dry 17% vol. 0.75 l is a high-quality creation by the renowned spirit maker Jean-Sébastien Robicquet and part of a Vermouth line that was developed as a tribute to Jean-Baptiste de La Quintinye, the garden architect of King Ludwig XIV. Each bottle bears the Fleur de Lys, the heraldic symbol of the French monarchy, and thus refers to the close connection with the history of Versailles. The Vermouths from La Quintinye are based on wines and Pineau des Charentes, a regional speciality made from unfermented grape must and eau-de-vie de Cognac from the IGP Charentais region. For the extra dry version, 27 different herbs and spices are used, including wormwood, vine blossom and a wide range of aromatic botanicals. The Vermouth is then matured for twelve months in French oak barrels, which gives it additional structure and elegance.
This Extra Dry is characterised by a particularly clear, dry character and represents a modern interpretation of the classic French Vermouth tradition. The combination of aromatic diversity, a high-quality base and an extended ageing period makes it a versatile companion in the world of upmarket bars. Whether enjoyed neat, on ice or in classic cocktails, Vermouth Royal Extra Dry offers a precisely structured flavour profile that combines elegance, freshness and herbal intensity. It is particularly suitable for connoisseurs who prefer a clear, dry Vermouth with an authentic French signature.
Tasting NoteGolden amber colour in the glass. Herbaceous notes of sage, basil, rosemary and lavender on the nose, complemented by aniseed, figs and citrus fruits. Slender body on the palate with dry-bitter accents of green grapes, tart citrus fruits, eucalyptus and lavender as well as a noticeable tannin structure. The finish is medium-bodied, fruity and herbaceous-bitter, focussed and long-lasting.
This Vermouth Royal Extra Dry is ideal for classic drinks such as Martini variations, dry highballs or aromatic aperitifs with tonic, soda or lemon zest. Pure on ice, it reveals its herbal structure particularly clearly. It harmonises well with savoury tapas, olives, marinated vegetables, seafood dishes and mild cheese variations. Its dry, precise style makes it an ideal companion for sophisticated cocktail creations and elegant aperitif moments.
