Taylor’s 20 Years Old Tawny Port 20% Vol. 0,75l in gift box

£73.91

Taylor’s 20 Years Old Tawny Port, 20% vol., in a 0.75 l bottle with a gift box, is one of Portugal’s most renowned aged Tawny Ports and impressively embodies the centuries-old tradition of the House of Taylor’s. Taylor’s Port is regarded worldwide as one of the most respected producers of high-quality port wines and has earned an outstanding reputation, particularly in the field of aged Tawny Ports. This 20-year-old Tawny combines elegance, complexity and exceptional harmony, and is one of the most popular aged Tawny Ports worldwide.

It is produced using selected Port wines from the house’s extensive reserves, which have been aged for many years in traditional oak casks with a capacity of around 630 litres. During this long period of cask ageing, the wine develops its characteristic tawny colour as well as the complex aromas that make this style so sought-after. Maturation takes place in the famous Taylor’s Lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia on Portugal’s Atlantic coast, where constant temperatures and optimal conditions ensure a slow development. Compared to the 10 Years Old Tawny, the 20 Years Old Tawny Port displays significantly greater maturity, more intense nutty aromas and even greater aromatic depth. The result is a consummate dessert and fine wine, ready to serve immediately upon opening and requiring no decanting.

Tasting NoteIn the glass, Taylor’s 20 Years Old Tawny Port presents an intense amber-tawny colour with golden highlights. On the nose, an opulent bouquet unfolds, featuring spices, jam, toasted nuts and delicate notes of orange blossom. This is complemented by elegant woody notes, resulting from its long ageing in oak casks. On the palate, the port is rich, concentrated and harmonious, with great aromatic depth and a smooth texture. The finish is soft, complex and exceptionally long-lasting.

Taylor’s 20 Years Old Tawny Port pairs superbly with crème brûlée, fig desserts, almond pastries and caramelised desserts. This matured Portuguese port also pairs beautifully with fresh wild strawberries, dried fruit, roasted nuts or fine cheeses of the highest quality. It also reveals its full elegance when enjoyed neat as a digestif after a festive meal. The recommended serving temperature is 12–16 °C, served slightly chilled.
