AEH 5 Years Old Finest Full Rich Doce Madeira Wine 19% Vol. 0,5l

£18.39

The AEH 5 Years Old Finest Full Rich Doce Madeira Wine is a sweet, full-bodied Madeira wine with 19% vol. from the Portuguese island region of the same name. This fine fortified wine is made from the typical Madeira grape varieties Tinta Negra Mole and Malvasia Preta, which are known for their aromatic diversity and ageing potential. With its volcanic terroir, mild climate and steep vineyards, the Madeira region offers ideal conditions for the production of long-lasting wines with a strong character.

Using traditional methods, the port wine is first matured oxidatively under controlled heat in order to develop the typical Madeira characteristics with caramelised, nutty and dried-fruity aromas. The five-year ageing process takes place in oak barrels and gives the port additional depth and harmony. After the maturation period, the Madeira is carefully bottled and sealed with a natural cork to preserve the quality and allow further development in the bottle.

This Madeira wine is ideal as a dessert wine or as an accompaniment to special moments of pleasure.

Tasting NoteIn the glass, the AEH 5 Years Old Madeira has a deep amber colour with golden brown reflections. The nose has enticing aromas of dried fruit, caramelised sugar, roasted nuts and a hint of honey. The palate is full-bodied and rich with notes of figs, dates, toffee and spicy wood. The finish is long, soft and elegantly sweet.

Acidity: 3.8 g/l

Residual sugar 111 g/l

This Madeira wine is perfect as a digestif or in combination with desserts such as crème brûlée, chocolate tart or caramelised nuts. It also unfolds its complex flavour particularly well with mature blue cheese or as an accompaniment to a cigar.
