Carpano Classico Rosso Vermouth 16% ABV 1l

£18.63

Carpano Classico Rosso Vermouth, 16% ABV, in a 1-litre bottle, is a traditional Italian vermouth whose history dates back to the late 18th century. It is based on an original recipe by Antonio Benedetto Carpano, the founder of modern vermouth, and is still produced today according to his original concept. Compared to the famous Antica Formula, Carpano Classico Rosso is slightly more approachable and less intense, yet retains the unmistakable character and elegance for which the House of Carpano is renowned worldwide.

This Rosso vermouth derives its characteristic reddish-brown colour from the use of caramelised sugar, which also contributes to its harmonious sweetness. The finely balanced blend of selected herbs, spices and botanicals makes it an excellent choice for classic cocktails and long drinks. Whether in a Negroni, Americano, Manhattan or served neat on the rocks – Carpano Classico impresses with its balanced structure and time-honoured style. Its high quality has been recognised, amongst other accolades, with a silver medal at the 2018 International Spirits Challenge, and continues to make it a staple in professional bars and discerning home bars to this day.

Tasting NoteIn the glass, Carpano Classico Rosso Vermouth presents a deep reddish-brown colour. On the nose, dark, spicy vermouth notes unfold, accompanied by sweet dried fruit, herbs, citrus fruits and subtle hints of vanilla. On the palate, the vermouth is full-bodied and harmonious, with spicy, herbal notes, a pleasant bitterness and nuances of orange and lemon. The finish is harmonious and spicy, accompanied by a subtle sweetness, and is pleasantly medium-length.

Carpano Classico Rosso Vermouth is excellent as an aperitif, served neat over ice or with a twist of orange. It also forms the ideal base for classic cocktails such as the Negroni, Americano, Manhattan or Boulevardier. This Italian vermouth also pairs excellently with roasted nuts, antipasti or mature hard cheeses, elegantly enhancing the flavours of the food.
