Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Pinot Noir 2023 13,5% Vol. 0,75l
£11.45
The Gérard Bertrand Côte des Roses Pinot Noir 2023 is a stylish red wine from the sunny south of France that combines the characteristic finesse of the Pinot Noir grape variety with the Mediterranean warmth of the Languedoc. The cuvée comes from vineyards that stretch along the Mediterranean coast between Narbonne and Béziers – a region with ideal climatic conditions for aromatic, fruity yet elegant wines.
With the Côte des Roses range, Gérard Bertrand, one of the most important personalities in biodynamic viticulture in France, stands for modern, terroir-influenced wines with high standards of style and sustainability. The 2023 vintage is balanced, ripe and fresh. The vines grow on chalky and clayey soils, are harvested gently and fermented at a controlled temperature in order to preserve the fine flavours and delicate texture of the Pinot Noir as much as possible. The wine is matured briefly in stainless steel tanks and partly in wood, which gives it additional depth without masking the fruit.
The elegant designer bottle with rose base is also visually striking, a stylish expression of the elegance that this Pinot Noir promises in the glass.
Tasting NoteIn the glass, the wine is a bright ruby red colour with delicate purple reflections. The nose reveals a fragrant bouquet of cherry, raspberry, violet and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, the Pinot Noir is smooth, elegant and delicately fruity, with gentle tannins, well-integrated acidity and a harmonious, slightly spicy finish.
A versatile accompaniment to grilled poultry, veal fillet, tuna tataki, Mediterranean vegetable dishes, but also to mushroom risotto or mild soft cheese. Chilled at 14-16 °C, it is also a delight on warmer days.
