Beronia Reserva Rioja 2020 14% Vol. 0,75l
£19.55
Beronia Rioja Reserva is a high-quality red wine from the renowned Rioja region in northern Spain. Beronia, known for producing wines with a traditional yet modern interpretation, offers a successful balance of fruit, wood and tannins with this Reserva.
The cuvée of Beronia Rioja Reserva is made from 96% Tempranillo and 4% Graciano, two of the best-known grape varieties in the Rioja region. Tempranillo gives the wine its fruity richness and depth, while the small proportion of Graciano adds freshness, floral notes and a complex flavour. The grapes come from the best vineyards in Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa, which are characterised by chalky soils and a Mediterranean-continental climate.
After the harvest, the grapes are carefully selected before being fermented in stainless steel tanks. The wine then matures for 12 months in American and French oak barrels, which gives it its typical vanilla and toasted flavours. After ageing, the wine is bottled and sealed with a natural cork to preserve the quality and potential of the wine as much as possible.
Tasting NoteDeep garnet red in the glass. Complex aromas of dark berries, plums and cherries unfold on the nose, accompanied by vanilla, roasted flavours and a hint of tobacco. Full-bodied on the palate with a fine tannin structure and a good balance of acidity, which gives it freshness and elegance. The flavours from the nose continue and combine with a subtle woody note. Long and persistent on the finish.
Acidity: 5.4 g/l
Residual sugar: 1.5 g/l
Serving temperature: 16-18 °C
Beronia Rioja Reserva is an excellent accompaniment to grilled beef, lamb chops or braised game. The wine is also an excellent choice with mature cheese such as Manchego or a hearty stew.
