Hannes Reeh Cabernet Sauvignon Unplugged 2021 14.5% ABV 0.75l

£26.96

The Hannes Reeh Cabernet Sauvignon Unplugged 2021, 14.5% ABV, 0.75 l, is a dense, full-bodied and complex premium red wine from Burgenland, which impressively demonstrates just how expressive a single-varietal Cabernet Sauvignon from Andau can be. It is made from 100% Cabernet Sauvignon grapes grown on 15-year-old vines, which thrive on sparse red gravel and ripen under ideal climatic conditions in the famous ‘Pflaster von Andau’.

Hand-picking guarantees the highest quality, followed by spontaneous fermentation in stainless steel tanks with four weeks’ maceration. The wine is then aged for 16–18 months in barriques, which lends it additional depth, complexity and ageing potential. With an alcohol content of 14.5% vol. and a ageing potential until 2034, it is both a delight to drink now and a candidate for long-term ageing in the cellar.

Tasting NoteIn the glass, the Cabernet Sauvignon Unplugged 2021 displays a deep, dark ruby red colour. On the nose, intense aromas of cassis, ripe redcurrants and dark chocolate unfold, accompanied by subtle toasted notes from the barrique. On the palate, it is powerful, dense and complex, with ripe tannins, pronounced fruit and a long, harmonious finish.

Acidity: 6.1 g/l

Residual sugar: 1 g/l

The Hannes Reeh Cabernet Sauvignon Unplugged 2021 is ideal with hearty and grilled meat dishes such as beef steaks, rack of lamb, game or braised roasts. It also pairs very well with mature hard cheeses or dark chocolate. Serving temperature: 16–18 °C – decant 1–2 hours beforehand for the best tasting experience.
